Movie Night in La Placita Tucson Arizona
"Cinema La Placita" Tucson's Summer outdoor film series

Movies under the night sky: Remember the romance of the outdoor movie scene in the film Cinema Paradiso? Now you can experience the romance of an outdoor movie with your sweetheart or good friends under a star filled Tucson sky. Classic films and cool summer night breezes at Cinema La Placita. Plastic chairs are provided although you might find a folding camp chair more comfortable on the courtyard steps or a bring blanket to sit on the lawn. Bring friends and a happy attitude, real food and drinks available at the La Placita Courtyard restaurants.

The schedule for July-August 2007 is as follows

September 6 3:10 to Yuma (the original, from 1957), starring Glenn Ford
September 13 My Fair Lady (1964), starring Audrey Hepburn and Rex Harrison. Rated G
September 20 Paint Your Wagon (1969), starring Lee Marvin and Clint Eastwood Rated PG-13. Sponsored by Shawn and Susan Halversen.
September 27 El Dorado (1966), starring John Wayne and Robert Mitchum. NR

El Dorado is part of our "Shot in Tucson" film series, and was filmed here in Tucson. My Fair Lady has been re-scheduled due to a rain-out in July.

Getting there:
Ride your bike or carpool with your friends, parking is available in the four level garage on Stone Avenue, just south of Broadway. Walk west across the pedestrian bridge to La Placita. For those of you from out of town La Placita is the South West Corner of Broadway and Church Street.

Bring a few bucks: Admission is free but a $3 donation at the popcorn table will keep the films rolling. Bring your well behaved kids for free!
